- Planned and Established the Drug Abuse Testing Laboratory at De-Addiction Centre of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. This is the first time such a laboratory has been established in the country. The laboratory started functioning in June 1989.
- Officer- Incharge of Drug Abuse Testing , Preclinical Behavior and Biochemistry laboratories at the National Drug Dependence Treatment Centre, AIIMS. Drug Tests in body fluid includes (screening and confirmation) for: opioids (morphine, heroin, codeine, dextropropoxyphene, pentazocine, buprenorphine), opioid antagonists (naloxone, naltrexone), benzodiazepines (diazepam, oxazepam, chlordiazepoxide, nitrazepam), Barbiturates, cannabinoids, anitihistaminics (pheniramine, promethazine), cocaine and nicotine (cotinine), inhalants (Toluene) . Every year approximately 26,000 drug tests (drugs of abuse) are screened in urine samples under my supervision. Moreover, every year approximately 29,000 routine biochemistry tests and 7000 hematological tests are carried out under my supervision
- Apart from post graduate teaching also imparting training of Drug Abuse Testing in body fluids to Laboratory personnel’s, Doctors, Nurses of various States of the country.
- Planned and Established a ‘Pre-clinical Behavior Laboratory in the department, for carrying out pre-clinical studies. The laboratory started functioning in 1994.
