 TRANSFUSION MEDICINE AND BLOOD CENTRE

 

 

  • Introduction
    • The Dept. of Transfusion Medicine (DTM), NCI-AIIMS, Jhajjar has begun its service operations since June 2019. The department, through the established ‘Blood Storage Centre’ has rendered the transfusion service support to all the patients attending to NCI till August 2021.
    • Since 1st September 2021, the department initiated the state-of-the-art “Blood Centre” offering all kind of Donor services (In-house & Outdoor voluntary blood donation drives), Blood component processing, Inventory management, Blood component modifications, Apheresis procedures, Support for Stem Cell Transplant, Immunohematology and Infection marker screening, Pre-transfusion testing facilities and patient blood management programmes. 
    • The department is well equipped with the latest equipment of global standards with a promise for running essential services for safer patient care activities and better resident training programme in various areas of Transfusion Medicine. Nevertheless, the department is also actively involved in the academic activities, offering training and academic sessions to both senior and junior residents, respectively.
